Learning the rules

As with any sport, spearfishing in Miami does have its own rules and regulations and you have to go to a qualified spearfishing instructor to inform you of these rules not only for your safety but for the safety of others as well. For instance you have to have an FWC saltwater fishing permit and a lobster tag if you are hunting for langos. These licenses can be obtained at Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and you have the choice of choosing one that lasts a few days or an annual license.

Another important factor to note is at the Mid Key Largo to the Long Key Largo, you have to be at least 3 miles offshore in order to fish. Regarding the law and safety guidelines to avoid any unnecessary incidences will allow you to make the most of your spearfishing experience!
